Increased Local Giving
EAAG aims to increase the volume and quality of Local Giving and Resource mobilization in East Africa. In order to achieve this we shall seek to;
- Promote legislative and policy reforms that shall provide incentives for local giving.
- Promote and encourage an organized approach to philanthropy in East Africa.
- Gather information regularly on forms and patterns of local giving with the aim of publishing, communicating and sharing the knowledge widely.

Vibrant network of members and grantmakers
We have a great commitment to our membership. We aim to have a strong and adequately supported Membership base that is compliant to sound grant making standards of practice. We shall do this by;
- Driving a membership recruitment campaign that will lead to a critical mass of active members throughout the region.
- Strengthening the effectiveness of our members by providing value added learning opportunities and skills development
- Developing an excellence in grantmaking programme and establishing acceptable grant making standards and best practices. The Association shall promote the compliance of members to the standards and to our Code of Conduct.
- Facilitating and supporting members in their endeavor to strengthen their ability to monitor and assess the impact of their work.
- Introducing vibrant communities of practice targeting the various types of grantmakers.
- Improving regional outreach and having adequate representation of members in all the 5 East Africa Countries.
- Facilitating events highlighting the success of members including the East Africa Annual Conferences for Grantmakers.

Knowledge base for organized philanthropy
EAAG aspires to nurture an informed grantmaking community in East Africa. We will achieve this through;
· Identifying, developing and implementing regional research agendas on the various patterns of local giving and resource mobilization.
· Developing and regularly showcasing case studies of various best practices for organized philanthropy in East Africa.

· Establishing effective information sharing and dissemination mechanisms
Maintaining a vibrant website that shall be a platform for exchange of knowledge in philanthropy and a virtual series of learning.

Strategic Alliances and Networks for philanthropy
We desire to be a strong, visible and influential regional Association of grantmakers with established links with Governments, Private Sector and Civil society, and the East Africa Community (EAC). We shall achieve this through;
· Engaging in partnerships with each of the Governments in the region and the EAC for policy reforms and leveraging resources for social development
· Engaging in partnership with all the credible Private Sector Associations in each country and follow up on initiatives and approaches to influence Corporate Social Responsibility and private capital for social development
· Working in partnership with key credible Civil Society Associations and Coalitions (eg NGO, CBOs Media, private Foundations and Trust, Faith Based groups, High Network individuals to promote local giving and Resources for Social Development.
· Networking and developing productive collaborations with International Organizations across Governments, bilateral and multilateral institutions, and the global fraternity of grantmakers to leverage Resources for Social Development in East Africa

Organizational Development
EAAG aims to be an effective, efficient and sustainable organization, recognized as a leading association promoting local giving and effective grantmaking in East Africa. We shall do this by; - Establishing a comprehensive resource centre containing our history, archives, databases and research documentation; and facilitate the public access to East African grantmakers in our membership
- Developing and implementing an effective and comprehensive Communications Strategy.
- Develop and implement a successful resource mobilization strategy for the Association
- Work towards improving our financial and human resource policies, procedures, guidelines and enhance the capacity of EAAG staff.
- Continuously enrich our good governance
