Q. What is EAAG?
East Africa Association of Grantmakers (EAAG) is the initiative
of a group of trusts and foundations working in Kenya,
Tanzania and Uganda who came together to form a new membership
organization for grantmaking bodies across the region.

Q. What does it do?
It offers opportunities for trusts, foundations and
other civil society organizations to work more closely
together.
Capacity building of member organizations
It also promotes domestic philanthropy through strengthening
grantmaking institutions which serve the community
The Association is also involved in policy advocacy
in the three countries

member of the Association?
Organizations/Trusts/Foundations operating within East
Africa directly or indirectly involved in philanthropy. |

To become a member you apply to the secretariat using
the address below or visit our website www.eaag.org and
download application forms. |

Q. How much is membership
fee?
There are three categories of membership fee;
(a) Full members $1000
(b) Associate members $750
(c) Affiliate members $750 |

Q. What is the difference
between the above categories of membership?
(a) Full members. These are Organizations/Trusts/Foundations
that are directly engaged in grantmaking and have been
in operation within East Africa not less than a year.
(b) Associate members: These are Organizations/Trusts/Foundations
that are directly been engaged in grantmaking and have
been in operation within East Africa in a period less
than a year OR indirectly engaged in grantmaking and
have been operating in East Africa for not less than
a year.
(c) Affiliate members: These are Organizations/Trusts/Foundations
that are not directly involved in grantmaking but practice
philanthropy within East Africa
